•If the verb ends in CONSONANT + Y, change the Y to i and add –ED

•If the verb ends in VOWEL + Y, just add -ED

–Has one syllable and
–Ends in Consonant-Vowel-Consonant (C-V-C)
•Double the last consonant and add –ED
